This 5-day budget Safari allows us to experience the highlights of the Northern Safari Circuit. We experience breathtaking wildlife in the midst of diverse landscapes; monkeys in the forest, lions on trees, elephants amongst the acacia tree, and a huge variety of animals inside a collapsed volcano. We also visit the Serengeti National Park, home to some 3 million animals. These spectacular grass plains offer the best opportunity of viewing cheetah, leopard, rhino, and lion, in the true wild.

Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival in Arusha

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), which caters for domestic flights, you will be met by our representative who will drive you to your accommodation in Arusha. overnight will be at the Outpost Lodge. There is free Wi-Fi in the café, restaurant, and bar, as well as a swimming pool and conference room.
We are situated in a leafy residential area close to the town center.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire

Have an early breakfast. We depart to Tarangire National Park. The park is named after the Tarangire River which runs through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. In places, the vegetation is quite dense, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and lush groundwater forest. The Park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffe, bushbuck, and hartebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. There are more breeding species of birds found in Tarangire National Park than anywhere else on the planet. Home to Tanzania's largest population of elephants, Tarangire is the best place to see these gentle giants in their natural habitat – from the adorable calves all the way up to the intimidating bulls. After a packed lunch, we head out for our accommodation for dinner and overnight at Migombani camp.

Day 3

Serengeti

After an early breakfast, drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti National Park with game viewing en-route. Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and scientific value, it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. It is the migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May, and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge, or crocodile-infested river can hold them back. Serengeti is truly home to the legendary Great Wildebeest Migration. Later in the afternoon, drive to Seronera Campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Serengeti to Ngorongoro

After an early breakfast, you will have a game viewing drive in the vast Serengeti National Park with its endless plains. There are plenty of big cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards to spot. Afterward, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and on to Simba campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Ngorongoro to Arusha

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game viewing drive. This is a good opportunity to spot the endangered black rhino and a large pride of lions. The jewel in Ngorongoro's crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world and is a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the 8th wonders of the world. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most famous sites and is said to have the highest density of wildlife in Africa. Sometimes described as an ‘eighth wonder of the world’, the Crater has achieved world renown, attracting an ever-increasing number of visitors each year. You are unlikely to escape other vehicles here, but you are guaranteed great wildlife viewing in a genuinely mind-blowing environment. There is nowhere else in Africa quite like Ngorongoro! In the afternoon, ascend the Crater and drive back to Arusha in time for your flight back home or for a flight to Zanzibar.
